CARUSI COLLECTION
The bright colours of Sicily dress our Moor’s heads
The I Carusi collection of brightly-coloured Moor’s heads was created in our workshops in Caltagirone, where each piece is transformed into a work of art.
The collection is a modern reinterpretation of historic Sicilian ceramics, expressed in linear shapes and bold colours.
The voluminous turban, elegant medallion and other details are depicted in a minimalist style.
Our collection is dressed up with the colours of Sicily and embellished even more with hand-painted decorations.
The glazes used for colouring are bright and bold and the interaction of the glazes with the porous clay creates unique tones.
And then there are lemons, oranges, pomegranates, flowers and leaves to characterise the turbans, making them masterpieces of craftsmanship made in Sicily.
The “I Carusi” Moor’s heads are 24 and 33 cm high.
