Moor\u2019s heads couple Nora and Mimmo<\/h2>\n

Nora<\/strong> lives in Modica, and has a terrace which overlooks the town and fills the air with the perfume of her flowers.
\nShe makes delicious sweets with the local chocolate.
\nShe is vain and sometimes theatrical, and each night she savours the beauty of her town when the slowly setting sun dresses it in gold.<\/p>\n

Mimmo<\/strong> lives in a beautiful garden in Noto and spends his days contemplating his city.
\nHe has a long black moustache and loves ornamenting himself with precious jewels.
\nWhen evening approaches, the sunset reflected on his face illuminates him with passion and nobility.
\nHe lets himself become inebriated by the flavour of his almonds, and is certain that he could prepare extraordinary biscuits with the chocolate of Modica.<\/p>\n

Moor\u2019s heads Nora and Mimmo are 17 cm<\/strong> high.<\/p>\n

THE PRODUCTION<\/h3>\n

The process of creating a Moor’s head vase involves two firings in a kiln.<\/p>\n

The first lasts thirty-six hours at a temperature of about 980\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

After this, the piece is slowly cooled and then immersed in tanks containing the enamel which will give the surface of the object its distinctive, eternally glossy appearance.<\/p>\n

Once it has dried, the head is decorated by hand by our master craftsmen and then given a second firing to glaze the enamel.<\/p>\n

This takes about thirty-six hours at a temperature of 920\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Next, the decorations in gold are applied and the piece is fired for a third time to fix them.<\/p>\n

This phase lasts around 24 hours and takes place at temperature of 700\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

IDEAS AND INSPIRATIONS<\/h3>\n

Mimmo and Nora are precious objects, perfect for rendering a corner of a living room unique and ideal as a gift for a much-loved person, and can contain small plants and flowers of all types.<\/p>\n

CARE AND DETAILS<\/h3>\n

To clean the object, use a soft, damp, non-abrasive cloth.<\/p>\n

Do not use chemical cleaners, as these may damage the glaze.<\/p>\n

The product should be handled with care, making sure to avoid dropping it, knocking it against hard surfaces (as even the slightest bump can chip the surface) or anything else which might damage it.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Always handle Moor’s heads with care, making sure not to put pressure on the crown or decorations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
