MEDITERRA DECORATED CROCKERY – 6 PIECES SET – BRIGHT GREEN AND MULBERRY

The plates in our Mediterra collection are inspired by the fascinating colours of the Mediterranean sea.

They are made completely by hand by our master craftsmen, who transform each plate into a genuine work of art.

The manufacturing process is long and complex, so choosing a set of plates means bringing a masterpiece of Italian craftsmanship into your home.
Select your favourite combination to create a service for 2, 4, 6, or 8 people.

PRODUCTION

It all begins when the clay, our raw material, is turned and modelled by hand to create the desired shape.
After allowing it to dry naturally and slowly in the open air, the dish undergoes an initial firing of 36 hours at a temperature of around 980°C.

Once the first firing is completed, the dish is cooled and then immersed in white glaze so as to cover the raw terracotta, providing us with a perfect base for decoration.

At this point our master craftsmen create the decoration, which is executed completely freehand and without the help of prints or decals, relying only upon their imagination and craftsmanship and drawing inspiration from traditional decorations dating back to the 17th and 18th century, or innovating with modern colours.

Once the decoration is complete, the dish undergoes a second firing of about 36 hours at 950°C which fixes the decoration, turning each dish into a unique piece.

After cooling naturally, the dish is ready for use.

Our plates are perfect for setting a unique and brightly-coloured table. They can be mixed and matched according to your personal taste.

We love playing with decoration and setting the table a different way each time – let the colours and patterns inspire you to create your own table.

Our dishes are perfect for everyday use as well as for special occasions, and their bright, typically Sicilian colours, really make them stand out.

We use a wide palette of colours to bring their decorations to life – orange, green, deep blue, azure, burnt/raw umber and ochre.

We suggest using a neutral-coloured tablecloth in plain linen or cotton or one embroidered in the Sicilian style to highlight the colours of the dishes and and ensure your table leaves you and your guests speechless.

Upon request prior to ordering, plates can be adapted for wall hanging.

Replacements for individual dishes can be purchased, subject to availability.

PERSONALIZATION OF PRODUCTS

Upon request, the underside of plates can be personalised with names or dates.

CARING FOR YOUR PLATES

Our handmade dishes are durable and dishwasher-safe.
We do however suggest handling them carefully and avoiding the use of solvents or abrasive sponges which might damage the glaze.
Make sure not to bang them together while loading the dishwasher and separate them well to avoid wear.
